Living and Dying a Kennel Dog

We mourn the passing of Nicky, who spent the last of his days in the B.AR.C. kennel. He was often chosen to work the adoption tables with B.A.R.C. volunteers, but never was adopted himself. He was given the option of being at the pet store, but actually preferred the kennel. He died in his kennel of an apparent heart attack. We hope the dog goddess Hecate has a nice snug kennel for him after she and her herd of dogs complete their midnight rounds.

Eddie Spaghetti

Eddie Spaghetti, a Chihuahua, owned by Vinnie and Tony, died after a short period of failing health. I didn't get to know him very well; he was so fragile nobody would let me near enough to get acquainted.

Tick Alert

Puppies found in a Southside Junkyard were so infested with ticks, it took hours to de-tick them. They left for a country shelter that has good luck in placing urban canine "throwaways." We wish them luck.

Tell your owner to do a careful tick search on you after walks, or invest in a tick collar that repels these nasty parasites.
